A Big Thanks to the Textpattern Community

Giving my thanks and appreciation for gifts, and an all-around rewarding environment.

I haven’t been involved with a great many online communities, but enough to know that most are pretty dog-eat-dog and mileage will vary. The Textpattern community is far and away a big exception, and I hope I don’t jinx it by saying as much. This message is long past due, and by no means does it take gifts to make a community good, but I’m encouraged to write now because of the the community’s incredibly generous effort this holiday season.

Community members have pitched-in to by X-mas gifts for developers and forum coordinators, and I was quite surprised to find my name on the announced list of recipients. I want to personally thank all of you for this wonderful surprise. I’m sorry I didn’t have an Amazon wishlist to make it charming (I never thought I would need one), but I do appreciate the boring ol’ PayPal transfer nonetheless and I have put it to good use…spent it all on Ry Cooder music that I have had missing for a while now…

Thank you. Thank you.

I wasn’t really looking for a place to hang out when I first came to the Forum community, I simply started showing up there to better know the wonderful machine it all centers around, Textpattern ; but before long I found myself an active member of a sincere and genuine collective of individuals. I have experienced both sadness and success in this community, giving me the impression that people here, more than anywhere else, are of flesh and soul as much as avatar.

Textpattern has one of the best community around, that’s for sure. It’s one of its strong asset.
